A $25 donation at the door gets you $1,000 worth of play chips and drink specials all night.  We will be offering poker, blackjack and craps throughout the evening.  At the end of the night you can trade in your chips for raffle tickets and the chance to win amazing prizes!  Prizes include:  $50.00 gift card from Triumph Brewery, 2 Phillies tickets for the May 26th game (7:05 start), Eagle’s Defensive End Chris Clemons Autograph, Flyer’s Center Danny Briere autograph, 76ers Andre Miller Autograph, a chance to spend a morning (6am – 10am) at WMMR 93.3 with Preston and Steve, two nights at the Microtel in West Chester, an overnight stay for 2 at LOWES in Center City, and an XBOX 360.

All proceeds from Casino Night will benefit Relay for Life, The Philadelphia Orchard Project, and Life Unchained.

We invited businesses, nonprofits, service groups, and individuals interested in supporting the nonprofit sector to come and participate in a night of networking among like-minded people.

Nonprofit organazations gathered to meet one another, share the joys and trials of nonprofit life, and network with potential volunteers.  Life Unchained, Philadelphia’s Young Non-Profit Leaders, Quest for Tech, Roxborough/Manayunk Relay for Life, and The Urban Momentum Movement each participated in the Networking Night.  We’re sure that each left with many valuable connections and some great new friends.

Businesses in attendance included:  4 Most Sound, Heart on Your Sleeve T-shirts, Sheila & Sharon’s Cookies, Tristan Hoffman Website Programming and XRAM.  Each of these businesses are kind enough to support the work of nonprofits through providing discounted services.  Check out their websites to find out more about what they have to offer.

We also had the pleasure of meeting representative from various fundraising companies.  Your Purse Connection, VIP Discount Program and FF Distributors each offer a variety of services to help nonprofits and similar groups raise those much needed funds!  We’re excited to currently be planning an Accessory Swap to be held June 6th at Coyles Cafe in Roxborough.  Our Accessory Swap will feature purses from Your Purse Connection and we’ll be raffleing off some awesome designer look-alike bags from Your Purse Connection.  Stay tuned for further updates!!

And now for the most important part.  Where will all that money we raised go??  Well, Life Unchained’s mission is to create unique, first-time projects by providing seed money to individuals or groups, and we had a few projects in mind!  We will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the following programs:  an afterschool art program at Cook-Wissahickon Elementary School (Roxborough, PA) and a West Philly Urban Garden (through the Philadelphia Orchard Project).  We will also be donating some of the proceeds to Relay for Life.  Ok, so it’s not a first time project, but a good cause none the less!
